This past weekend was Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Freestone National. We headed down to make sure that we got some good interviews, drank some free Red Bull and created a Pint Full of Awesome for everybody to enjoy. I can say that all of this happened and then some, and this episode is a concentration of the activities that took place.
We were lucky enough to have Matt Wozney, from MXPTV.com, stop by on his way from Freestone to Lakewood for the next round of the Outdoors. We grabbed a bite to eat at Chuy's, which is some awesome Tex-Mex, and then sat down on the couch for some Seat Time awesomeness.
The racing at Freestone was top notch and finally having a chance to watch a Pro Motocross in person really enlightened me to the speeds they carry. The Stewart/Dungey battle was insane and kept everybody on their feet the whole time hoping to witness the moment Dungey would overtake Stewart. Eli Tomac rode in a fashion only his father could have taught. He has grown as a rider and is certainly becoming someone who is looking to put his name in the record books. And then there is Blake Baggett, a man who rides with a ferocity that is barely believable even when seen in person. He takes lines that no one else see's and he takes risks no one else wants to take. His leap of faith into the Texas Twelve Pack off of 'The Wall' had the entire crowd OHing and AHing.
Wes McKnight and I are packing for the 2012 ISDE Qualifier in Boise, Idaho and we will keep you updated of the shenanigans as we travel across the country.
