After a week off, we are back and swinging hard. We brought two guests on for this episode to try out some new fun. Cody Beck and Cameron Ishmael, accompanied by Cody's girlfriend Brittany, traveled east to our 'studio' in Plano. From Trey Canard and Ryan Morais' wreck to Round 1 of the National Enduro, we had quite a few good discussions. Be ready to enjoy the awesome!
Of course the Oakland Supercross had some great racing, it always does. But this is the first race this season that we felt had some intense racing. James Stewart came away with a win, riding consistent and staying off the ground. Eli Tomac dominated the Lites class, placing his Honda on the top step of the podium for the second time this season. The 2012 Supercross season is certainly going to be fun to watch.
Heading to the East coast of this great country would bring you to Round 1 of the National Enduro Series. Sumter, SC, which is known for it's sandy, tight trees, delivered a tough race for the many riders who made their appearance. Many top GNCC racers joined the Enduro guys, finding a chance to get their race bikes ready for Florida. Stewart Baylor Jr, the 2011 GNCC XC2 overall winner, showed great off-season growth in Sumter, winning by 40 seconds over Enduro legend Mike Lafferty. The National Enduro and GNCC Series should be prepared for some great racing this year.
Locally in Texas, Round 2 of the TSCEC Series took place in Fluvanna, outside of Lubbock. The terrain is a little different from most west Texas races. There are more rocks than you would typically find, creating more of a technical race than some would imagine. Cameron Kirkpatrick rode a fast and dominating race, getting the Overall win over Haydn Franklin by 9 seconds. This ties Cameron and Haydn in points for the Series. Let's see how this plays out.
Coming up this first weekend of February is more racing. Supercross continues to hit every weekend by moving to Los Angeles for Anaheim II. This isn't a breast cancer awareness race, but we can pretend. Locally in Texas, we have Round 6 of the TORO Series in Poolville. Come join us this weekend for some fun, technical off-road racing.
Thanks again to Cody Beck and Cameron Ishmael for joining us on the couch and to FLY Racing for their sponsorship of Seat Time. Please visit them for all your awesome needs. Enjoy the weekend and always enjoy A Pint Full of Awesome.
